What happens if EchoVault shuts down?

Your capsules live on IPFS (decentralized storage) and Polygon blockchain. Even if we disappear, your data remains accessible. You can export your encryption keys anytime.

Can I upgrade or downgrade later?

Yes. Upgrade anytime to unlock more features. Downgrading keeps your existing capsules intact, but you cannot create new ones beyond your tier limit.

How does the dead man's switch work?

You set a check-in interval (e.g., every 90 days). If you do not check in within the grace period, your capsule automatically unlocks and recipients are notified. You can check in via email or the dashboard.

Is my data really secure?

Yes. We use AES-256-GCM encryption (the same as banks and militaries). Your data is encrypted client-side before upload. We never see your unencrypted messages. Ever.
